Tole painting is one of the many Folk Art styles. Tole painting refers to painting on tin and was popular amongst German emigrants to the Pennsylvania region of the United States. During the 1800’s this painting style was used as a way to decorate domestic utensils and even furniture in an effort to make the homes brighter and more cheerful.
