E-Painting Pattern - This is a Traditional Tole Painting Stroke Work Design by artist Susan Abdella.
Tole Painting is an old style of Folk Art. Historically, German farmers and town's people who immigrated to the North Eastern areas of the USA, mostly the Pennsylvania region, would decorate their everyday kitchen and domestic wares using simple stroke designs. This style of art was called Tole Painting. Meaning painting on tin wares.
Tole Painting resurfaced during the 1960's when decorative art teachers began teaching this simple style of painting in their local art studios. This popularity gave birth to hundreds of Tole painting art shops across the USA and Canada. Today, the painted items are still highly prized and collectible as a treasured form of Folk Art!
