Acrylic - E- Painting Pattern

Orchids - One of Passions by Gaby Hunter

For those of you who want to know how to paint flowers, starting with a simple flower like the orchid is a great way to begin. As the name implies, painting orchids has always been one of my passions. In the last few years, I began growing and collecting these unique tropical plants so I can have access to the live subjects for my painting lessons. This is one example from my ever expanding collection.

This painting pattern comes complete with:

  • Step by step photographs
  • Detailed written instructions and demonstration photos
  • This design is painted using simple acrylic painting techniques
  • I use a layered painting method

By working with a complementary color scheme, I wanted to demonstrate how painting with a limited palette the artist can adjust and expand the two complementary colors for variety and interest. In this case red and green. In this lesson you will also learn how a white base is used to create the added brilliance of the final red hues. There are 14 pages of notes for this lesson.
