For The Beginner and Beyond!

This is an introductory level class for the artist who wants to learn about paint and mixing. This class will introduce the basics to the New Artist who wants to understand the workings of paint, pigments, and simple mixing techniques. Discover the language of color and pigments. This online course is ongoing, students may register at any time and work through this self directed short course at their own pace. The course materials in this short program are extensive and are dedicated to painting with acrylic paints and mediums and getting the new artist off to a good start by building a strong foundation.

Learning Outcomes:

• Learn the basic language of color.
• Discover an innovative approach to selecting and understanding color pigments and artist's mediums.
• Learn why certain pigments are used over others, and how this will make your painting techniques more effective.
• Learn logical strategies for choosing, mixing, and managing pigments and colors. All artist need to build on a foundation for mixing color, this class will give you this foundation.
• Discover what a 'color scheme' is and how artists use color schemes in painting.
• Learn to use basic color tools that will help the artist understand the properties of color.
