The surface texture of an object will dictate which type of blending technique will be used to paint for realistic emulations.  The artist must be proficient in a variety of techniques that can be called upon to achieve all surface textures.  Such as smooth, rough, shiny, dull, reflective, transparent, furry, fluffy and so on.

    If you are on a quest, as I am to become a better painter, this is one technique you will definitely want to master, and Sue Pruett is exceptional in this area. I very much enjoyed the class. Sue is a very patient and thorough instructor, and is there with you each step of the way giving you feedback and helping you do your best work. The end result for me is I now have two beautiful paintings as well as having gained desired result of learning how to blend. I could not be more satisfied. Thanks Sue, it was fun and frustrating and oh so worth it.

    I did it! Sue has just given me the final ok for my Tulip which means I have passed this Class. Sue is a wonderful, patient teacher and I have learned a lot in this class.     I have always liked a smooth blended look of some paintings. I didn't know how it was done. I learned so much about the blending techniques needed for painting realism. Now I understand how to go about this. Good teaching demonstrations and I enjoyed the video lessons. Very nice presentation.

    I've taken this class as well as the black and white tulip class. The paintings are done with different techniques. Great to have the knowledge of both techniques. The videos were easy to follow and I loved my results.
