Chippendale - Historical Style of Decorative Painting. The focus of this class is to introduce the artist to the Chippendale style of decorative painting. If you have never painted in a historical style, this is a great way to begin. Two large paintings and a smaller study will be completed in this online painting class. The class covers many painting techniques such as the use of transparent layers over semi-transparent underpaintings. The instructor demonstrates how depth and dimension can be developed with this interesting technique through the layering method of painting. This course will expose the student to a style of painting based on the 'veiling' technique that can be used to create many future paintings. These are transferrable skills that can be used again and again, especially if you love to paint flower paintings.
