A Flair of Chippendale Flower Painting - Acrylic Painting Pattern: This lesson is based on the Historical Chippendale style painting technique that is popular with Decorative artists around the world. The lesson teaches the artist how to paint Chippendale Flowers and to work with a white underpainting on a dark ground. The artist learns to control intensities and values for dimension through the use of layering such as glazing and veiling. The lesson also teaches the student to appreciate the benefits of optical mixing through the use of transparent applications. This design is painted on a large Chippendale styled metal tray, however the design could be adapted for a beautiful tabletop, trunk or for custom furniture.
